Since I wrote up a series of blogs regarding my thoughts of The Office, I decided to write a blog about last night's The Killing 2-Hour Special. Like every original series of AMC, they tend to promote a shit ton of previews and it basically annoys me when they do but the thing is that AMC's original series has always been exceeding our expectations. When I first saw the previews, I was quite skeptical about it - I would of thought it was a tad similar to other crime dramas and will go into a loop of disappointment when I watched it.

But when I watched it after they show a repeat of The Thomas Crown Affair and around a minute-long clip from The Killing which is weird because it starts the show starts right after the movie and showing a five minute or more clip doesn't justify giving out some spoilers that you are going to watch next. Which is why I hate AMC's way of promoting things.

Anyways after I had watched both The Pilot and The Cage , like the Walking Dead, I really liked how this crime thriller is unfolding though the starting after Sarah is joggling and saw some kind of dead body and the police having a surprise party and gave her a blow-up doll as a present was felt kind of weak to me because at first it was quite serious and then that scene just came out of nowhere. Sarah played by Mirelle Enos is a homicide detective of the Seattle Police who is juggling between getting married, raising her child and recently solving a case regarding the murder of Rosie Larson with a new detective who moved into the job, Steven - who is left under the truck of one Darren Richmond's (a politician currently being elected) campaign's cars. As the preview shows everything is connected to the murder of Rosie Larson; the politician, Darren, his friends at school and Halloween party and the Larson family.

When Darren hears about the death of Rosie Larson, Jamie, the campaign assistant wanted him to take advantage over the murder during the election. As evidence as what the polls revealed in the official AMCtv website, I was right that Jamie seems suspicious as a suspect, seeing that he first wanted Darren to advertise Rosie's death to the press and he felt strange and suspicious when we first see him. Here is the suspect tracker and Jamie seems to be the top suspect as of now (23%). And the fact that I hate him and his personality of being twitchy and weird. Adams, the mayor may be in on it as well.

Meanwhile, the Larson family is suspicious about Rosie's disappearance and Stan, the father tries to investigate the disappearance in his way rather than the police - talking Rosie's friends to the ex-boyfriend. I liked Stan's character of being a concerned father who is committed on finding her daughter and his reaction to hearing from Sarah that his daughter is murdered and the effects that the family has not telling their two kids that Rosie has passed away. Sure we see that in other movies but the immediate reaction of Stan hearing that his daughter died was emotional and I was emotionally attached with it as well.

Aside from Jamie being the most hated character, the new homicide detective, Stephen is also another character I hate due to him smoking weed and having two girls smoking weed with him. But he found the real hideout in the basement of the High school.

I still suspect that Jamie is the killer but maybe they will pull another huge suspect out and someone else is the real suspect and Jamie might have been an accomplice to the real killer. Or even Rosie's ex-boyfriend father who slapped his son when he questioned the cops about the murder. Anyways the show overall is alright and it is definitely better than CSI or a crime show on FOX.

There's two shows with the same name by the way.
